North Carolina – Raise Up for JKR

It’s a desire I’ve had for a long time. When I left for NYC in June 2010, I gave myself 5 years. At the age of 22, five years seemed like an eternity. As that milestone came and went, it was still in the back of my mind. The night my dad was diagnosed with cancer in February, I told my husband Scott, “Get your resume in order. This is happening.” And just about 5 months later, our employers were informed, our apartment was packed up, our goodbyes and see-you-laters were said, and we left NJ to move in with my sister Kristin and her family.

The Broome and White family are happy to have us down!

We officially left for NC on July 6 to head down and the first thing we did was join our local YMCA. I’m actively seeking employment (read as unemployed, but highly motivated), so I’m making the most of my downtime by taking every group fitness class I can: Zumba, Step, Cardio Sculpt, Dance and Burn, Tabata, Yoga and will soon be taking boot camp classes.

This means a whole new area that JKR can cover with class and race reviews, run clubs to join and info we get to offer you! I’m already toying with the idea of the Charlotte Spartan Sprint next April. Are any of you in the Charlotte, NC area? I’d love to meet you! Are there any races or studios you want more information on? Tell us in the comments!
