Recipes to try: Chocolate Protein Cookies

I kept seeing all of these delicious looking dessert photos on Instagram and was shocked to see time after time that 95% of them were protein recipes. I would think, “so you’re telling me, there’s a way for me to eat chocolate and have it be good (better) for me? Why haven’t I tried these yet?” And alas, I finally tried them. 

The recipe I used as a base is from Fit Foodie Find. I changed it just a bit.

Fit Foodie Find’s ingredients:

Coconut Palm Sugar: I didn’t have this (not going to lie, I don’t even know what it is) so I used raw sugar from Trader Joe’s.

Protein: I used Mylolpex Lite Chocolate Fudge Powder. 

Peanut Butter: I doubled the recipe and replaced 1/3 of a cup of peanut butter with Trader Joes Pumpkin Butter. It makes the cookies more moist, keeps them from tasting chalky and who doesn’t crave pumpkin in the fall? 

The recipe is very easy: mix all ingredients in a large bowl until blended. 

Pre-heat the over to 350. Line two cookie sheets with aluminum foil, roll dough into balls and place on foil. I’ve never had to spray the sheet with this recipe, but feel free if you’re nervous. 

Bake for 10 minutes, remove from oven and let sit for 2-3 minutes. Serve immediately.
